Cousins make the world go round
Let me get this right. If cousins are children of your parent's siblings, that means my aunts and uncles are my cousin's parents so by default my cousins and I share the same grandparents. Oh, I get it! So basically the world is made up of cousins since my first cousin's children will forever be my first cousin from now on forever. The pattern continues with 2nd and 3rd cousins, forever down the cousin chart. I get dizzy if I look up the chart and see the cascade of cousins all around.
I have so many cousins!
I love it when things make sense in the world.
Who's removed?
If you remember nothing else, remember this...a first cousin is a first cousin forever and ever. Let me explain it another way. Think of your first cousin (do you have the image)? Visualize their child...that is your first cousin, once removed. Okay, now think of that cousin's child...you guessed it, first cousin twice removed. Everything is going so fast!
