Newton Ray Griffin

Known in the family as Ray, he enlisted in the USMC in August 20th, 1942.

Ray was seriously injured in Guadalcanal in 19XX when a jeep he was riding in overturned.

He left the USMC June 6th, 1945, and returned home to Washington State.

Ray died in 1960 and is buried at White Salmon, Klickitat County, Washington.  Ray's descendants include three children and multiple grandchildren.

Known in the family as Eldon, he was drafted into the US Army in 19XX.

Getting captured behind enemy lines generates a lot of attention.  I found multiple newspaper articles.  I'll organize all the links and newspaper information.
